Rob Duggan

Rob Duggan is a 23-year Gilbert Fire and Rescue Department veteran with over 30 years of public safety experience.  He was appointed to the Fire Chief position in July of 2022 after serving as an Assistant Fire Chief at the Gilbert Fire and Rescue Department for the previous seven years.   

He grew up in Moon Valley, attended Thunderbird High School, and graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology.  In 2021, Chief Duggan received a Master’s in Public Administration from Park University and his Executive Fire Officer credential from the National Fire Academy. 

He and his wife Sally moved into Gilbert in 2002, where they raised their daughter, Maddie, who is working and completing college in Brooklyn, NY.  Chief Duggan is a collaborative communicator focused on building relationships, affecting positive change, and delivering leading-edge innovation in the fire service to improve safety for firefighters and improve response effectiveness for our residents and businesses.
