EVERY ENCOUNTER MATTERS

People with autism sometimes struggle to get the help they need in crisis situations.
Preston’s Pursuit for Acceptance is working with first responders to change that.

In Partnership with

AZ Conference of Police and Sheriffs (AZCOPS)

Lauren’s Institute for Education

AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS (ASD) PRESENT UNIQUE CHALLENGES IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS.

By equipping first responders with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate these situations, we’re working towards ensuring that emergency services are beneficial to all members of the community, including those with autism.

Our interactive trainings are designed to equip first responders with the tools they need to:

  • Know and ask the key questions to identify autism
  • Feel more prepared heading into any emergency situation
  • Have more positive interactions with their community
  • Make a difference in the lives of those impacted by autism

OUR STORY

Chris and Autumn Timmins have walked both sides of the road that led to the creation of Preston’s Pursuit for Acceptance. As a twenty-five-year veteran of law enforcement (Chris) and adoptive parents of a child on the spectrum (Preston), Chris & Autumn have dedicated themselves to reshaping the way first responders are equipped to protect and serve those with autism by fostering a culture of knowledge, acceptance, and inclusion.

WHO ARE TRAININGS FOR?

Our mission is committed to serving anyone who’s responsible for the safety and well-being of their community:
